Primarily used as a support unit, because of the Starcaller’s Amplify Magic increasing the mana regeneration of adjacently built units, a Disciple and Starcaller still offer good offensive capabilities with their Mana Burst and Asteroid respectively. Both deal a set amount of pure (ability) damage to a single target, with the Asteroid adding percentage health scaling on top.
Aside from the obvious synergy with any unit demanding for mana to cast their abilities the Starcaller also has a great synergy with its unupgraded form, the Disciple, unlocking an even greater offensive potential.
As for Legion Spells Magician and Sorcerer are the obvious choices. If paired with Soul Gate/Hell Gates or other mana using units Hero can excel as well. Pulverizer is not recommended, as the main source of damage are the spells cast and Villain also has better applications due to the low attack speed and weakened effect for ranged units.
